HEALTHIER CONNECTIONS
Clinical Psychologist Dylan Kerr
Hi all, Dylan here! I’ve chosen the name “Healthier Connections” to represent my psychology practice because
I want to support people to build stronger and healthier connections - whether those connections are between family, friends, loved ones, or within yourself.
About Me
I adopt an integrated approach to therapy, taking aspects from various evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to your individual needs. We’re all individuals and therefore no “one size fits all”.
I take an approach that considers mental health concerns across diagnoses through an attachment-based lens with a particular interest in Schema Therapy.
Safety, trust, and agency are values that are important to me, which I endeavour to bring to the therapeutic space. I encourage feedback and will regularly check in with treatment progress.
Telehealth and face-to-face appointments are available. I accept people on the NDIS, private fee-paying, claims through private health insurance or on a Mental Health Care Plan via Medicare.
I don’t provide services through WorkCover, TAC, VOCAT or administer formal diagnostic assessments.

A little bit about my journey to becoming a clinical psychologist...
I started off working for a not-for-profit community mental health service and then for a homelessness service. I've also worked abroad with first nations youth, running sports and recreation programs.
I completed my Bachelor in Social Science (Psychology and Sports Psychology) and Honours (Psychology) at Swinburne University and then completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Deakin University.
I started off as a psychologist working for Eastern Health Public Mental Health service working with adults and then youth, and have since worked in private practice.

FAQ's
How much does a session cost?
The cost of a 50-minute consultation is $250.00, which is within the recommended fee range for a clinical psychologist, according to the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024-25. If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP, you are eligible for a rebate of $141.85. You may receive up to ten sessions under a MHTP each year. Please note that more complex mental health issues may take longer than ten sessions to resolve. The full fee must be paid at the end of each session, and your Medicare will be processed immediately after your session.
How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
Your GP can provide you with a MHTP. You may need to book a longer appointment with your GP so they can do an assessment of your mental health, and discuss your particular needs.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please provide 48 hours notice if you cannot attend an appointment. Late cancellations will incur a charge of half the session fee ($125.00) which must be settled before the next session is booked.
How do I book an appointment?
It's easy! Contact me on the form below, or by email or SMS and I will get back to you and book you in for an appointment.
What days and times are available for sessions?
Tuesdays to Friday between 10am and 6pm.
Is telehealth available?
Yes, telehealth sessions are available, and you can switch to a telehealth session at late notice if you wish.
Is Healthier Connections wheelchair accessible?
Healthier Connections is located within the Tonic Tree Multidisciplinary Clinic which is up a short flight of stairs. Unfortunately there is no alternative entry into the clinic.
